Are you ready to transform your early literacy instruction with high-impact, research-based practices? Join us for an engaging session where we explore Dr. Wiley Blevins’ Six Instructional Routines that ignite foundational reading skills and build confident, capable readers. Grounded in the Science of Reading, these six routines—Alphabet Recognition & Phonemic Awareness, Blending, Dictation, Word Awareness, High-Frequency Words, and Reading Connected, Decodable Texts—offer a practical framework for accelerating reading success.

Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of how each routine targets critical reading behaviors and supports the development of strong decoding and encoding skills. You’ll learn why phonemic awareness and alphabet recognition are the best predictors of early reading achievement and how to structure daily blending routines, such as successive blending, to promote decoding fluency. Discover the power of dictation and guided spelling as tools for reinforcing phonics through writing, and how word sorts and word building activities enhance word awareness and pattern recognition.

Through interactive modeling and practical examples, you’ll walk away with a concrete plan to incorporate these six routines into your daily instruction. Whether you're teaching in whole group, small group, or intervention settings, these routines will help you move from isolated skill instruction to integrated, authentic literacy practice.
