About me
Pearl Garden Ed.D is an experienced ELAR Consultant at Region 10 Education Service Center, working with K-5 teachers across the region. With 26 years in education, she has been an elementary teacher, teacher educator, and adjunct professor at Paul Quinn College and Hartwell University. A past Chair of the Texas Association of Literary Education, Dr. Garden has published in academic journals, contributed to blogs like Literacy Today and McGraw-Hill’s Art of Teaching, and runs her own blog, Literacy Pearls. She is dedicated to helping educators close the achievement gap through research-based practices and emphasizes the importance of teachable moments to nurture the whole child.
